China Dispatches First Emergency Flood Relief Supplies to Pakistan

(MENAFN) The Chinese government initiated its emergency flood relief efforts for Pakistan by dispatching the first batch of supplies from Zhengzhou, central China, on Sunday, the Chinese Air Force confirmed.

Two Y-20 transport planes transported essential items, including tents and blankets, directly to Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.

Since June, Pakistan has faced catastrophic flooding that caused extensive casualties and significant property losses. In response, China initially extended $2 million in emergency aid.

To bolster Pakistan’s recovery, China has pledged an additional 100 million yuan (approximately $14 million) in emergency flood relief materials.

The rest of the supplies are currently being fast-tracked for preparation and are expected to be sent out in the next few days.
